Blog Azeroth Shared Topic: Insert NPC Here

6

If Blizzard added your main as an NPC in WoW, where would they be located and what would be their function? Give us a shot illustrating the fact.

I’m definitely the typical female Warcraft player by way of pet and mount collecting. But I’ve also got this semi-endearing, streak of sass that oftentimes inhabits my body come raid time. Let’s face it, raiding can be high stress and oftentimes (at least in my guild) there are people flipping out. During those times the sass in me comes out in full force a la the Incredible Hulk. And much like Mr. Hulk, it may be destructive, it’s rarely pretty, but it gets the job done and oftentimes brings a chuckle or two. Therefore, if an NPC of my main in game existed I’d be Fayona, Dash Sass Vendor.

Bring it!

Guild members raging in Mumble? Pug raider bragging about experience? “That guy” delaying the raid? LFR noobs gettin’ you down? Visit Fayona in Dalaran for your Dash of Sass! Just one potent charge will be all it takes to keep the raid orderly, moving and in check! *snapsnapsnap*

You’ll be able to find Fayona and her potent item in Dalaran on the balcony across from the bank. Why? Because Dalaran holds her fondest memories! Plus, she’ll never cower in fear of some Alliance dirtbag killing her. What was that you say? No one goes there any more? Well, maybe if you’re lucky another kind mage will port you there. After all, come Mists of Pandaria, we’ll no longer need reagents!

And when you visit her, remember she’s always fashion forward. So transmog in advance with pet to match and get one of the most necessary items for raiding.

The Spirit of Competition 2012

6

“Every two years, the Spirits of Competition grow especially fervent, and draw close to the mortal realm. During such times, members of both the Alliance and Horde can honor the spirits and earn Competitor’s Tabards by seeking to defeat one another in the battlegrounds. For victory in competition, they can also earn the spirits’ favor in the form of a prized gold medal – and the special pet it summons.”

Despite the tooltip saying that the event would occur every two years, the last time this event happened was in 2008 with the Beijing Olympics. I’d been playing Warcraft very actively at this point for about 6 to 8 months, if I remember correctly. The game was a lot different pre-BC and really didn’t hold my attention all too much because of a lot of walking, wand specs and the overwhelming urge to explore every area of the map. So needless to say, PvP wasn’t really my thing at the time and that’s what this achievement involved.

A few guildies received the in-game pet and tabard and I remember being green with envy, wishing that I was one of the “cool kids.” Well, four years later the summer Olympics are upon us, this year in London. The Fay-family is waiting with baited breath to see what offering Blizzard will bestow upon us. Will we get another shot at an Olympic themed tabard and pet? Or will we be subjected to another disappointing tabard with a duration?

I’ve got my Troll fingers crossed, mon.

All three of them.

Got pics of your tabard and pet? Show em off in the comments!
